Pat is an attorney licensed to practice law in the States of Illinois, Wisconsin, Iowa and Colorado. Pat’s practice focuses on providing comprehensive and creative estate planning services in an understandable manner, along with charitable planning and business succession planning advice to business owners. Pat has enjoyed the opportunity to be a frequent speaker on the subject of estate planning to investment professionals, accountants, corporations, charities, and various other public and private organizations.
Professional Experience
Pat is a member of the Winnebago County Bar Association and has served on the Board of Directors of the Northern Illinois Estate Planning Council and the International Association for Financial Planning. Pat is also a Certified Financial Planner and satisfies the annual continuing education requirements to maintain that certification. Pat was named as one of the top 100 Estate Planning Attorneys in the country by Worth Magazine (December, 2005).
Education
Pat graduated from the University of Iowa with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting. While at the University of Iowa, Pat was awarded membership in Beta Alpha Psi (National Honorary Accounting Fraternity), Beta Gamma Sigma (National Honorary Business Fraternity), and the Order of Omega (National Leadership Honorary Society). After graduating from college, Pat returned to Illinois where he attended law school at Northern Illinois University. Pat graduated from the Northern Illinois College of Law with honors (Cum Laude) and published an Article in the Northern Illinois University Law Review. After graduating from Law School Pat completed the course work and testing to become a Certified Financial Planner™.
Personal Profile
Pat is active in the community, having served on the Board of Directors for Milestone, Inc. (Care of Developmentally Disabled Adults), the Salvation Army Advisory Board, the Rockford Park District Foundation, the Saint Anthony Medical Center Foundation, Keith Country Day School, the Discovery Center Museum, Northern Illinois Leave A Legacy, and the Boylan High School Educational Foundation. Pat is married to Jenny, the office administrator for Agnew Law Office. They have twin sons, Adam and Alex, who are Attorneys in the office, and a daughter, Ellie, as well as grandchildren, Harper, twins Shelby and Peyton, Finn and twins, Luke and Nate.
